Kyle and I met in early 2021 for the first time, in Kyle's apartment. From the moment I met Kyle I was absolutely smitten! At the time I was working as an in-home caregiver for his best friend. After work on the day we met, I sent a video to my friend talking about how cute I thought he was and how having him around would undoubtedly make me nervous. I didn't want to try anything since I was working there at the time, but once I saw him outside of work at a Halloween party I knew I wanted to get to know him! I asked for his number, and then we started talking daily which turned into long phone calls since at the time he was still working in Rapid City. We officially started dating on November 12th of 2021! If you had asked me when we first started talking if this is where I saw the relationship going, I probably would've said "I hope so!". Someone once was telling a friend of ours that "your dream girl isn't going to just walk into your living room!", and Kyle responded "Mine did!"
Kyle and I knew we were going to be getting engaged soon, as he let me help design the ring (Kyle and my mom made a few improvements to it after my original design) but I wasn't sure when the actual proposal would happen. He decided to do it on Easter so that my grandparents could be there, because he knew how much that would mean to me! As we got ready to head to my moms, he said "Hey! Lets bring a Lego set to build while we sit at your moms house!" and he had to really convince me because I was telling him "My mom wouldn't want us to waste our family time building a Lego set!" This is where my first red flag should've been, because my mom was surprisingly happy to watch us build it! Then he said "Lets go show everyone the set!", and as we walked out and I was showing them I noticed my mom recording and then turned around to Kyle on his knee holding a custom build ring box, made of Lego. 💙
